Purchase a Right of Interment for A Natural Burial, Traditional Plot, or Ashes Niche
Interment Reservations are also known as ERB's which stands for Exclusive Rights of Burial.
Note that the following terms are used interchangeably:
Exclusive Right of Burial
Right of Burial,
Right of Interment, and
Reservation.
Purchasing a Right of Interment plot or ashes niche allows you to plan ahead for your final resting place and removes the guesswork for those making your final arrangements.
Reservations may be transferred to other family members after advising the Cemetery Manager so that records may be amended. Failure to do so may cause unnecessary distress for your family at a difficult time.
The Cemetery Manager will use their discretion to accommodate your wishes if conditions change in the interim.
For Natural Burials, the reservation does not ensure a particular site, but that you will be ensured the most appropriate site at the time of interment.
Once you have reserved a plot or niche, your right of interment is granted in perpetuity. However, if a plot or niche has not been used after 25 years and we cannot contact you after making diligent enquiries, we may need to reclaim the specific plot to meet the needs of the community.
Cancellations must be made in writing to the Cemetery Manager and can be sent to
PO Box 358 Geeveston 7116 or to GeevestonPublicCemetery@gmail.com.
